For more than five decades, the Nevada Watercolor Society has been the heart of the water media community in Southern Nevada. Founded in 1969, our Society brings together artists of all skill levels who share a passion for watercolor and other water-based media, fostering creativity, connection, and the continuing growth of the art form we love.

Monthly Meetings

From September through May, members gather on the 3rd Saturday of each month at the Henderson Multi-Generational Center from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm. Each meeting features artist lectures, painting demonstrations, and lively conversations about all things watercolor. Meetings are open to everyone — whether you’re a seasoned artist or simply curious about watercolor, you’re warmly welcome.

Workshops with Nationally Known Artists

Throughout the year, the Society organizes painting workshops led by nationally recognized artists. Whether you’re just beginning your watercolor journey or looking to refine advanced techniques, our workshops offer something meaningful for every level.

Three Juried Exhibits Each Year

The Nevada Watercolor Society presents three juried exhibitions annually, celebrating the talent and dedication of our members and the broader art community:

Fall Show — Open to all artists.

Spring Show — Open to all artists.

Signature Show — Exclusively for NVWS Signature Members.

Cash awards and merchandise prizes are presented to winning entries across all three shows.

Join Us

NVWS membership is open to anyone with a love of watercolor — all skill levels, all backgrounds, all ages. You can join online through our “Join Us” page or by downloading our membership form.

General Membership: $45 per year

Student Membership: $15 per year (high school and college students)

Lifetime Membership: Complimentary for members age 90 and older

New members joining after January 1 are not required to pay dues again until May 1 of the following year — so there’s never a bad time to join!

Signature Membership

Signature membership is a special distinction awarded to members whose work has been accepted into three NVWS juried shows. It is a mark of artistic achievement within our community. Visit the “Members” page for application instructions.
