Giovanna Giulia Simeone Presentation
Our Wednesday, March 9 monthly meeting will be held at the special time of 10 AM, when we welcome live from Europe Giovanna Simeone.
Giovanna will address “atmospheric perspective”, the great invention of Leonardo da Vinci. How to show space and distance without the geometrical lines. Atmospheric perspective and watercolors allow us to explore the difference between solid, liquid and gaseous elements in space and let us feel the distances, without need of lines. The discussion will summarize her different careers and viewpoints too, including her technical choices with respect to the Italian Renaissance and Venetian painting school, famous for atmospheres and colors. Giovanna comes from the region of Venetian masters such as Paolo Veronese, Tintoretto, Giorgione, Canaletto, and Tiepolo; she currently resides in Germany.
