Artist's Statement:

My passion of Animals lead me to painting them. So that is how my Pet Portraits started.

I cannot paint an animal without smiling and sometimes laughing. They stir up an excitement of colors that I have to put down on canvas or paper though use of my mediums of Oils and Water Colors.

My techniques are straight forward…I MUST paint the eyes First so that I can see the Soul of the my animal…Then it becomes a Color Show of the all important Colors under the Fur. Then comes the Nose….and Then the Ears…Now sometimes these Colors do get carried away…Like a Purple Zebra or maybe a Pink Cat!

The enjoyment of finishing these paintings is quite self rewarding. I try to work toward doing New and Daring techniques with my Colors. Always taking workshops and watching videos on all and any new techniques that can be used towards my goals. It has become a Never Ending Passion for knowledge of the Art World.
